Our candles are crafted from 100% soy wax and infused with premium essential oils, designed to provide a clean, calming ambiance. To enjoy them fully and safely, follow these essential care tips:
Allow the Melt Pool to Form: When you first light your candle, let it burn long enough to create a full melt pool across the surface. This should take about 1-2 hours, depending on the candle size. A full melt pool prevents tunneling and ensures even future burns.
Avoid Short Burns Initially: Short burns on the first use can create a memory ring, causing the candle to tunnel and waste wax.
Trim Between Burns: Always trim the wick to about 1/8” before each use. This helps control the flame size and maintains an even burn. If the wick is too long, it may cause the candle to smoke or burn unevenly.
Remove Ash and Debris: After trimming, gently remove any charred wood or debris from the wick and surface. This promotes a clean, crackling burn each time.
Avoid Drafts: Place your candle in a draft-free area to keep the flame steady. Drafts can cause uneven burns, soot, and smoke.
Keep an Eye on Burn Time: For candles under 12 oz, burn no more than 3-4 hours at a time. Larger candles can burn for up to 4-5 hours. Overburning may cause the wick to "mushroom" and impact scent throw and safety.
Level Surfaces Only: Place your candle on a stable, heat-resistant surface away from anything flammable.
Avoid Moving a Lit Candle: Allow the wax to harden before relocating a candle to prevent wax spills or flame hazards.
Use a Snuffer or Gently Blow Out: Extinguish your candle by gently blowing out the flame or using a candle snuffer to avoid splattering wax.
Check Wick Position: After extinguishing, ensure the wick remains centered. Adjust it if necessary while the wax is still soft.
Allow Candle to Burn to Bottom Safely: When about ½ inch of wax remains, discontinue burning to prevent heat damage to the container.
Clean Residual Wax: After the wax cools, clean out any residual wax with warm, soapy water. Our containers are perfect for repurposing as planters or decor.
Cool, Dry Place: Store candles in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight, which can fade the color and affect the fragrance of the essential oils.
Cover Between Uses: If possible, cover the candle when not in use to keep dust and debris from settling on the surface.
